Today marks the Capricorn New Moon our annual invitation for a grounded reset.
Not the loud “new year, new you” reset... it's the energy that asks for commitment, steadiness and support that actually lasts.
Which reminds me of one of my favorite subjects: CORE.
For a long time, I thought six-packs were about vanity.
But yoga taught me otherwise.
As my practice deepened, I realised a strong core is a shortcut to how supported I feel.
Having a strong core has supported me in real life with:
• long drives without back pain
• carrying heavy bags, bins, furniture, etc
• better balance and power for snowboarding (or your favorite sport)
• deeper backbends (because my body feels safe)
• more emotional stability under pressure
• clothes that I love (and have owned forever) fit really well
When I started prioritising core work consistently, things shifted fast:
• back pain reduced (my sciatica has disappeared for almost 2 years now with acupressure and bladder meridian therapy)
• posture improved naturally
• confidence + decision-making strengthened
• I trusted my body and my gut more
But the biggest change wasn’t physical - it was steadiness.
When your centre is strong, your nervous system feels safer.
You trust yourself more.
CORE isn’t about punishment or perfection -
it’s a commitment to your strong, steady self - now and in the future.
