Subject: maybe we don’t think our way into letting go

Hi Friend,

Ever notice that some things are hard to let go of...

Not just physically, but emotionally.

Not just the clothes from the past decade, but also old conversations, expectations, relationships, versions of yourself... we keep holding, even when it’s heavy.

Sometimes heavy can feel safe because it's heaviness can feel like meaning.

Sometimes it's a weight we can’t quite name - in our chest, in our breath, and in our body.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Lung + Large Intestine meridians are responsible for:

→ breathing
→ grief
→ letting go

→ purification

So when they need TLC and are out of balance, we might feel:

→ emotional heaviness
→ shallow breathing
→ low energy
→ tightness in the chest
→ holding onto things you know you need to release

And most of us try to deal with this in our head

“move on”
“get over it”
“stay positive”

But the body doesn’t work like that!

You don’t think your way into letting go

👉 you move your body through it

This week in class, we work with:

→ breath (to open the lungs)
→ chest + shoulders (where grief sits)
→ sound purification for self expression
→ acupressure to support release emotionally and physically

So I hope you'll join me this week to release tension in the chest and explore what a sense of liberation freels - this is the week for expanding into more of you:
