Subject: You can’t inhale peace if you can’t exhale control❣️

Hi Friend,

This week’s Homebody practice reminded me of something I’ve had to learn over and over again — in life, in grief, in business, in every version of myself:

👉 You can’t inhale peace if you don’t exhale control.

It’s the Lung Meridian — the energetic channel connected to grief — that’s the reason Homebody began.

We say we want to “let go,” but I think what we really want, first, is to feel safe enough to let go.

And letting go can be scary, annoying, daunting, even traumatic — depending on the circumstance. Because letting go can feel like freefall. It’s vulnerable. It’s uncertain.

But really when we say we want to let go, what we’re actually doing… is letting in.
More on that in a minute.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Lung Meridian — the channel of grief and release — is all about purification.

When my grief was deeply personal, this idea changed everything for me.

That grief and sadness could also be experienced as purification - it's a process.

Not because I was seeking purity, but because purification has a function. It’s a process.
It’s the body’s quiet laboratory that reads above the door:

“If I let this emotion move through me, I don’t have to carry it anymore.”

This imaginary quiet laboratory is in the lungs, facilitated with our breath.

(Religion has done a great job of associating purification with punishment and sin — but here I’m talking about it like water: a simple transformation from one state to another.)

Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting, or not caring, or giving up.

Here’s what I’ve learned about letting go:

💫 It’s not the end — it’s an opening.
💫 It’s not passive — it’s participation.
💫 It’s not losing — it’s creating space to let in.

Letting go is letting in.

When the body learns to release, the heart finally learns to receive.

If you’re ready to feel this — not just understand it — Thursday’s session focused on the Lung Meridian (grief + release) and the Heart Meridian (wisdom + joy) — using slow breath, mindful movement, and acupressure to calm the mind and open the chest.

If you’d like to try the replay, just reply “LUNGS” to this email and I’ll send it your way.

Letting go isn’t something you think your way into.
It’s a practice.
It's a process.

This week (tues + thurs + sun) we will focus on the chest, heart, hips, and core — building strength and opening space around the lungs so we create greater safety for greater expansion.

homebody is the essential support for this autumn season of purification.
Let's do what the trees do - and let go!

Join me live or on replay — your calm body is waiting for you!

With softness + strength
