Subject: New Recipe! "Ginger Peach Smoothie"

Hi Friend,

After a recent bout of stomach flu, I woke up a few days later and was wondering what I could eat. I knew it had to be something light and preferably cooked. According to traditional Chinese medicine, stomach cramping is a cold condition so a regular smoothie wasn't going to work.

I looked around my kitchen and remembered I had a bunch of ripe peaches. I started chopping and decided to cook them in a saucepan with water. The original recipe was peaches and water only. I pulsed it in a Ninja and drank the warm blend with no upset. As a matter of fact, my stomach felt much better. I knew I was on to something.

With each passing day, I added a little more to the mixture and it transformed into the recipe below. Feel free to enjoy it whether you're well or recovering. Bon appetit!

Ginger Peach Smoothie (hot)

This smoothie is great for when the temperatures start to drop and you still want your smoothie but you’re not in the mood for anything cold.

2 peaches chopped into chunks

1/2 cup water

1/2 inch fresh ginger

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1/2 cup water

Add first 5 ingredients to a saucepan and heat on medium-low until peaches are tender. Pour mixture into blender, add 1/2 cup cold or room temperature water and blend until smooth. Be careful when removing the lid as contents may splatter (release slowly). Pour into a mug, garnish with chia seeds and enjoy!

Serves 1

Wishing you well,
