Subject: Why doing less feels so hard 💓

Hi Friend,

You know when you try to rest… but immediately felt restless?

Like the moment you finally sit down, your brain starts listing all the things you should be doing instead?

Let me guess - you grew up being told that doing less is lazy?

And now in 2025, we’re being sold that calm is numb.

It seems like the only way to “slow down” is to escape —
Scroll endlessly, feel like crap, and take something to numb it out.

But life isn’t something to rush through or run from.
It’s something to feel - and to live!

And that’s the hardest part - because "calm" feels unsafe.

When the media feeds us fear, shock, and comparison,
when everyone feels like they’re running on fumes,
calm can actually feel wrong.

So when you finally slow down, your body panics a little.
It thinks: “Wait… something must be wrong. We’re not doing enough.”

Even last Thursday, I was in a full stress loop — overdoing, overgiving, moving with cortisol.

I could’ve done anything but get on my mat! But I knew if I didn’t stop, I’d keep spinning.

And yet I know the power of "calm". It creates the most amazing and miraculous ripples in my life - and I would much rather create experiences, interactions and even mistakes from this state of calm, rather than cortisol.

So I stood barefoot on the mat,
one hand on my belly, one on my heart.
Inhale 4. Exhale 4.

And I whispered to myself (similar to what I guide you through in class):

“Hey Heid, let’s hit pause.

You don’t have to fix or figure it all out.

Just be here. Just breathe.

Your shoulders can drop. Your jaw can unclench.

You’re here — and that’s enough.”

You don’t have to perform calm.

You just have to stay with yourself long enough to feel it.

💓 Calm isn’t the absence of doing — it’s the presence of safety.
And safety is something you can train.

Just like strength or flexibility, calm is a muscle.

And that’s what we’ll train in Core + Restore — Full Moon (today ✨).

Together we’ll do:
🌿 Slow stretching + acupressure to melt tension
🌿 Breathwork to rewire your stress patterns
🌿 Fire up with core + drop deeply in restore

So instead of fighting stillness, you can finally rest in it.

You’re allowed to feel calm.
You’re allowed to rest and recharge.
You’re allowed to feel safe, strong and relaxed.

You are welcome to start as you are, right here.

Take one slow breath.
Exhale the pressure.
Then gently ask yourself —

What would bring me closer to feeling at home in myself today?

Feel your feet.
Breathe deep.

Make your move.

With bare feet + big exhales,

Heidi
