Hey Friend,
I just watched the Biggest Loser Documentary on Netflix. I highly recommend checking this out as it shows the dark side of extreme weight loss. One thing that really stood out to me was how they went from achieving mind blowing weight loss results in the short term with extreme calorie restriction and extreme exercise. But once they went back home after the show and resumed "normal life" the weight quickly came back on. Many of the contestants became even heavier afterwards than they were before their weight loss journey.
The whole idea of trying to force weight loss doesn't last. There was no healthy relationship with food or exercise being developed during the show. It was all about extremes to get that shock and awe factor for TV ratings.
They were basically forcing people to exercise until they vomited or passed out from exhaustion - all while trying to sustain themselves on less than 1000 calories per day.
I mean sure that can work in the short term, but who wants to live like that as a lifestyle? A real sustainable fitness and fat loss transformation - like what we encourage in the Muscle After 40 Blueprint - is actually quite boring and would make for a crappy TV show. But it produces much better results long term. I recommend that you watch this documentary (if you have Netflix) I bet it will be very relatable to anyone who struggles with their weight.
