Subject: Turn your bench PRESS into a PULL (which the pecs LOVE)

This is a brain bender...it should NOT work as well as it does...but I'll tell you why it does.

It's not about heavy pressing...it's about pec tension.

This is a Back-Off Bench Press and what SHOULD be wrong with it is actually what makes it so effective.

Essentially, this setup TAKES AWAY the support from directly under the upper back where normally you WANT support for bench pressing. Naturally, for heavy pressing, you don't do this.

I've found when I have that back support, I tend to become a tricep presser.

I still feel my chest working, mind you, but it's one of the reasons my triceps have built up as much as they have.

When I do THIS version (with my upper back completely off the bench), I find it turns the exercise from a PUSH into a PULL.
