Wayfarers Chapel invites friends, families, past members, and the entire community to join us for a very special 40th Anniversary Celebration, September 12 & 13!

For four decades, Wayfarers has been a place of love, gratitude, inclusion, service, and health. This weekend is a chance to celebrate the people, memories, and community that have made Wayfarers a place of inspiration and belonging for 40 years.

Come for an hour, an afternoon, or the whole weekend as we honor our past, celebrate our present, and look with joy toward the future.

SATURDAY

Sept 12 ~ 2-6 PM

An Afternoon of Food, Fun & Togetherness

We’ll kick off the weekend with a playful afternoon featuring some of the things we enjoy most at Wayfarers — community, creativity, food, and laughter!

Food, Fun & Crafts | 2–4:15 pm

Enjoy games and activities for all ages, including a swing, slackline, cornhole, and more. Stop by the craft tables to make your own prayer flag, or decorate a peace rock. We’ll also turn back the clock to 1986, the year Wayfarers began, with a little fun and nostalgia from 40 years ago.

Food stations will be set up around the grounds with light snacks and sweets to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

Reiki | 2–3:30 pm
Reiki is a regular offering at Wayfarers, held on the third Wednesday of each month. We are fortunate to have many Reiki practitioners in our community who share this gentle practice of energetic healing. Free mini-sessions will be available in RoseMary’s Chapel for anyone interested in experiencing Reiki.

Drum Circle | 4:30–6 pm
We’ll cap off Saturday’s festivities with another Wayfarers favorite — a community Drum Circle! Gather with us as we explore rhythm, connection, and the joy of making music together. No experience is necessary.

Service | 10–11 am

Sunday begins at our regular 10 am service in which some of our original Wayfarers will share memories from the Chapel’s early days. Music from Debra "the Hand Pan Lady" will be woven throughout the service.

Dedication of the “Spirit of Wayfarers” | 11–11:45 am
Following the service, we’ll gather outside for the dedication of the “Spirit of Wayfarers,” a commissioned work of art hand-carved from a tree and created to celebrate Wayfarers, our history, and our five core values.

Lunch & Time Together | 11:45 am–2 pm
Lunch is on us! Enjoy salads, warm sandwiches, soup, and a charcuterie spread, followed by dessert on the deck with cookies, brownies, and an ice cream sundae bar.

Take some time after lunch to visit with old and new friends and explore the beautiful Wayfarers grounds. Walk the labyrinth, explore the beautiful grounds, or visit the meditation garden where Linda Pupke will be playing crystal singing bowls. Photos, memorabilia, and early talks from RoseMary and Ron will be available in RoseMary’s Chapel for a glimpse into Wayfarers’ past.

A Look at the Past | 12-1 pm

Some of our early Wayfarers will be in RoseMary’s Chapel to answer questions, visit, and share more memories.

What Comes Next? | 1-1:30 pm

We’ll turn our attention toward what comes next with an informal conversation about the next 40 years at Wayfarers. Come share your thoughts, hopes, and ideas for our future.

Loose Shoes Duo Concert | 2–4 pm
We’ll finish our anniversary weekend — and this summer’s concert series — with Loose Shoes Duo. Listen, dance, relax, and enjoy the music as we bring our 40th Anniversary Celebration to a joyful close.

We hope you’ll join us for this special weekend as we celebrate 40 years of Wayfarers — honoring the people who brought us here, and looking forward with joy to all that is still to come.
