POLICY NEWS
On 24 April 2024, the European Parliament endorsed the provisional agreement on the European Health Data Space (EHDS) reached between the Parliament and the Council.
The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) underlines the potential benefits of employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing patient care, fostering innovation, and benefiting society at large.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announces the debut of S.A.R.A.H., a prototype digital health advocate equipped with an enhanced empathetic interface driven by generative artificial intelligence (AI).

VPH COMMUNITY
Dr. Duruisseaux from the Hospice Civil de Lyon (France) challenged a phase 3 AstraZeneca trial with an in silico trial executed on 5000 virtual patients. Days before the official release of the AstraZeneca results, he posted a very accurate prediction on X, formerly Twitter.
We are assessing the current levels of knowledge, diffusion, and trust in computer modelling and simulation tools in healthcare through a survey. The questionnaire is available in multiple languages and the only requisite is being a medical doctor. Fill it out, help us shape the future of healthcare!
The FDA/MDIC Symposium on Computational Modeling and Simulation (CM&S) in Washington DC (April 15-17, 2024) unfolded its vibrant tapestry for three enlightening days of interdisciplinary innovation and collaboration.



CELEBRATING WALTER PITTS

Walter Pitts was a logician and mathematician who had a profound influence on neuroscience and computer science. Among his many contributions, he proposed, together with Warren McCulloch, the first mathematical model of a neural network.

EUROPEAN PROJECTS
An extensive document that summarises and analyses the In Silico World consortium's work concerning the regulatory barriers and draws some recommendations for EU policymakers.
SIMCor is conducting its in-silico clinical trials to evaluate specific questions of interest for its medical device use cases, TAVI and PAPS, and validate its in-silico testing approach.
The event will take place on 30-31 May in Paris and will offer an immersive experience, unveiling the cutting-edge in-silico platform developed within the SimCardioTest project.
