This week marks another significant milestone as construction continues to build momentum. On Monday, the reinforcing steel for the footings successfully passed inspection, clearing the way for the second largest foundation concrete pour of the job. The slab pour will be a bit larger. Around 4:00 AM Tuesday morning, approximately 15 concrete trucks began arriving on site to place the footings that will support the majority of the building. In addition to the footings, the crew poured the pads for the columns (pictured above) that will support the entrance to the Church.
Beginning Thursday, the masonry crew is expected to start constructing the stem wall around the entire footprint of the building. The stem wall is built on top of the footings and forms the perimeter of the foundation. It establishes the finished floor elevation, supports the exterior walls, and creates the enclosure that will eventually be filled and compacted before the concrete floor slab is poured.
Once the stem wall is complete, the masonry work will need time to cure and gain strength before the next phase can begin. After a curing period of approximately 28 days, fill dirt will be brought in and compacted inside the stem wall to bring the building up to slab grade. The site will then become even busier as the plumbing and electrical contractors install the extensive underground infrastructure that will ultimately be hidden beneath the concrete floor slab. Once that work is complete and inspections are approved, the stage will be set for one of the most significant milestones of the project—the pouring of the building's floor slab.
Interesting Fact: The main footings alone contain approximately 50,000 pounds of rebar and 640,000 pounds of concrete—more than 345 tons of structural material beneath the building. Amazing!
It's inspiring to see the foundation of our new church home becoming more visible with each passing week. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support as we move steadily closer to opening the doors of this long-awaited new chapter in our ministry.
Our
beautiful new Church Home is being built for us in wisdom, love, and
divine timing and we are ready to receive it!

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Courage to Begin |
|
Highlights:
Lyrics to "Courage to Begin" by Roger Tomhave, Tom Kimmel & Kim-Char Meredith
From trial-and-error to error-and-trial, you’ve gotta do it with style. You know you’re going somewhere; … it might take a while.
It is not an easy path, and it leaves a trailing mess -- So many twists and turns up the mountain of success. When asked if my good fortune takes a special discipline, I say, "Yes it does. It takes the courage to begin."
Oh, the courage to begin is the courage not to stop. You got to keep on moving from the bottom to the top. Fail early, fail often, and when you feel like giving in, Remember how you started and the way you start again is the courage to begin.
…Every time I start, it might fall apart. Still, I’m on my way. Oh, it might seem the farthest run.
But, … the first step is the hardest one.
*Leddy celebrating with this past Sunday's guest speaker, newly ordained Unity minister, The Reverend Nancy Peterson |
|
Reverend Nancy asked us to include the message that her heart is overflowing with love and gratitude for all of the preparations, love and care that went into creating the memorable reception after the service.
We're all truly grateful for that delightful time of getting to sit together and share so many lovely treats in celebration of such a happy occasion!
Thanks to all who helped create that for us 😊 |

Bring the Kids to Church Every Sunday!! |
|
After a long time coming, we’ve started something new—there’s now a kids table set up in the back every Sunday!
For this season, our services are all about being together as a family while we wait for our new building and dedicated kids spaces. It’s simple, but it feels like a really meaningful step forward.
Deanna has graciously stepped up to welcome and care for our kids each week. She’ll have coloring activities available, along with a couple of iPads for them to use. Kids are also welcome to bring a tablet or phone to enjoy quietly during the service.
A big thanks to Deanna for helping make this possible! |
|
Last Sunday's Shining Words:
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household" (Ephesians 2:19).
We have come all this way together and we’ll keep growing together. |
