This is shaping up to be a very important week in the construction of our new church home!
A great deal of preparation for the concrete floor slab was completed on Monday, including work on several large footings that will support the building’s structural steel columns. With the preparations coming together and a very favorable weather forecast, our masonry contractor completed the first major concrete pour on Tuesday morning, finishing the portion of the floor slab we were working on! In the picture above, one of our concrete finishers puts the final touches on the completed pour. The second pour has been moved up from Friday to Thursday morning. Together, these pours will complete approximately 10,000 square feet of concrete floor—about 60% of the entire building footprint!
And here’s what makes this particularly encouraging: We won’t have to wait for the entire floor slab to be completed before the building begins to rise! While the south end continues to dry out so the remaining fill can be placed and compacted, the masonry crew can begin constructing the walls on the north end of the building.
After so many months of work beneath ground level, we’re finally approaching the point where we’ll begin seeing our new church home take shape above the ground. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but this should be a particularly rewarding week for everyone who has been following our progress. Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement as we watch this long-awaited vision become a reality!
Our
beautiful new Church Home is being built for us in wisdom, love, and
divine timing and we are ready to receive it!

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - Your Mask |
|
This Sunday, Leddy looks at the masks we wear and the peace that comes from living as our true selves. Drawing on biblical stories from Genesis and Esther and "The Serenity Scream" by Sue Riley, Glen Roethel and Melinda Wood-Allen, she invites us to get centered, listen within, and meet life with a calmer spirit.
Highlights:
Lyrics to "The Serenity Scream" by Sue Riley, Glen Roethel, Melinda Wood-Allen:
I need more Buddha in my life, a little less Genghis Khan. I need a healthy hobby to get centered and unwind. To hear the still small voice inside, I'd have to shut my mouth! I need more Buddha in my life, a little less Genghis Khan.

Bring the Kids to Church Every Sunday!! |
|
After a long time coming, we’ve started something new—there’s now a kids table set up in the back every Sunday!
For this season, our services are all about being together as a family while we wait for our new building and dedicated kids spaces. It’s simple, but it feels like a really meaningful step forward.
Deanna has graciously stepped up to welcome and care for our kids each week. She’ll have coloring activities available, along with a couple of iPads for them to use. Kids are also welcome to bring a tablet or phone to enjoy quietly during the service.
A big thanks to Deanna for helping make this possible! |

 | "Personality applies to the human part of you -- the person, the external. Your personality may be agreeable or disagreeable to others. When you say that you dislike anyone, you mean that you dislike [that] personality -- that exterior something that presents itself from the outside. It is the outer, changeable [person], in contradistinction to the inner or real, [person]. Individuality is the term used to denote the real [person]. The more God comes into visibility through a person, the more individualized [one] becomes.… Remember, God is wisdom, intelligence, love, power. The more pronounced the manner in which any one of these qualities -- or all of them -- comes forth into visibility through a [person], the greater [ones [ individuality…. One's individuality is that part of one that never changes its identity. It is the God self …. Individuality never changes.… A pronounced Individuality simply means more of God come forth into visibility through a person, and … it has power to call forth more of God through you …. The more you learn to act from the 'still small voice' within you, the stronger and more pronounced will be Individuality in you…. Remember this always, and act from the highest within you" (H. Emilie Cady, "Personality and Individuality" in Lessons in Truth, 1894-5). |
