The first few bills are being released for the Governor's "gun control" special legislative session.

TN Legislators are starting to file "special session" bills. They can be tracked - at least now - on this part of the Legislature's website.  We are expecting several hundred such bills based on "insider" reports.

Based on what has been filed and indicators of what might be filed based on Bill Lee's August 8, 2023, proclamation it is clear that NONE of this is an emergency that requires the lack of openness and covert concealment that a special session provides.

All of these issues should be deferred to the Legislature's regular session that starts in about 5 months.  Please contact your legislators and insist that they immediately adjourn the special session.  Make sure to tell them that you want any issues listed on the Governor's proclamation to be addressed openly and cautiously in a regular session where citizens have a reasonable opportunity to read the bills, read the amendments, discuss these issues with the legislators and ask to be heard in the committee processes.   Rushing a broad spectrum of potentially tens if not hundreds of bills spanning the Governor's 18 categories of topics is not good public stewardship.

If you do not take action today, Governor Lee and his supporters in the Legislature will be taking your rights away tomorrow!

Your involvement is critical to help stop Bill Lee's proposed Red Flag legislation and his other gun control proposals.

Please take action now and help the TFALAC (a state political action committee) raise funds for its #RedFlagDown mission to produce radio spots, social media campaigns, and other "get out the word" measures to stop Bill Lee's insistence that the state of Tennessee should be rushing carelessly to enact gun control and other proposals that could materially impact the rights of Tennesseans.
