Hello everyone,


We're back with product updates for you.


Our goal has always been to constantly improve our product with direct feedback from our doctors and their team members.


As you read the details, you'll see the names of doctors / team members who contributed with the idea of making the overall product better.


Today we're sharing the following updates:


🗒️ Unscheduled Treatment

  • Creation of Custom Code Categories/tags (fillings, scaling, inserts, implants etc. ) to include/exclude in your patient search

  • Using the Custom Code Categories created in "Codes to include" and "Codes to exclude" in Settings (link to short Video Clip 📽️ below in the details)

  • Treatment Priority Filter

  • Use of * wildcard is enabled for all Procedure Code selection dropdowns in Settings for Unscheduled Treatment tab.

  • Sorting for Tx Plan amounts on main Unscheduled Treatment page


📅 Recall

  • Introduced on the Overdue Recall page a way to see the last hygienist that was seen by the patient.

  • Filtering by Patient Age introduced

💰 Aging: Custom Setting introduced for Outsourced Agencies dealing with Outstanding Claims

  • Introduced a custom follow-up period for future follow-ups for Outstanding Claims


📝 Forms

  • Introduced Patient Verification in date format DD/MM/YYYY for Forms for use in Ireland / UK offices

  • Modifying a form submitted by a patient to upload more images that go directly into Open Dental (for use cases see details below)

  • Introduced Wiki editor as a drag-drop component to be used throughout custom Forms.

🗒️Unscheduled Treatment


Creation of Custom Code Categories/tags (fillings, scaling, inserts, implants etc. ) to include/exclude in your patient search


This was requested by Dr. Niels Oestervemb from Smiles of Virginia Family Dental Center.

The request made total sense as it would lead to a faster workflow when it comes to searching through patient lists.


You can now create custom code categories / tags. You can create unlimited number of them.

This allows you to use them when you're actually searching to filter through the unscheduled list.


As you're adding codes from the drop-down, use * wildcard character to speed things up.

Example: typing D23* will bring up all codes that begin with D23.

Using the Custom Code Categories created in "Codes to include" and "Codes to exclude" in Settings 

Using the custom tags, you can quickly populate your "Codes to Include" and "Codes to Exclude" procedure drop-downs.


This can then be used on the main Unscheduled Treatment page to apply quick filters.


Treatment Priority Filter


You can now filter your unscheduled list of patients by Treatment Priority you may have set up in Open Dental.


This was requested by Michelle (Practice Manager) from Dr. Kapil Kella's Lakeshore Dental Studio.


This idea also fit the overall usability of filters on the Unscheduled list, so we got to work right away!

📅Recall


Introduced on the Overdue Recall page a way to see the last hygienist that was seen by the patient



Filtering by Patient Age introduced


You can now filter the recall list by patient age.


Your list of patients will also show the patient age right next to their name.

💰Aging


Custom Setting introduced for Outsourced Agencies dealing with Outstanding Claims.


You can now have a custom follow-up period for future follow-ups for outstanding claims - which will be automated once a follow-up starts for an outstanding claim.


This was requested by Luisa Uribe with Paragon Dental Solutions, which is the outsourced company working with Dr. Ashley Dawson's Dawson Modern Dentistry.



🛠️ Improvements and bug fixes:

  • With the most recent update on Open Dental - they've changed how Planned Appointments work internally (database). Most of you didn’t notice it since it doesn’t look anything different on the UI, but in the backend, they stopped using a table, and this affected our back-end, so we made the change to our back-end systems to support this as well.

  • For offices outsourcing to Virtual Assistants overseas, due to the large time difference, the overdue recall list would include patients who have an appointment on the present day. This has been corrected after taking into account time-zone difference.

  • Net production / scheduled net production values will now reflect discounts even on PPO fees. In the case where if patient has insurance, the net production followed the fee dictated by the procedure code fee for that specific plan - without taking into account any custom adjustments / discounts applied specifically to that procedure code in Open Dental.

  • Repeating Task functionality: when you complete the repeating task that’s due for the present day, it would just replace it with the next instance of the repeating task - which means you don’t have a way to see the actual task that got completed and by whom.

    • This has now been corrected so that once a repeating task is completed - you'll see it being completed (crossed out) and see the newly created instance of the task with the new due date for the next instance of repetition.

  • Introduced an option on Patient Profile where you can filter to view only Teamio related posts in the Communication Log entries.

  • Improved functionality of tracking if someone is already following up with a patient from the pop-out panel that's open (to prevent two people from following up with a patient at the same time)

1) Log out, then 

2) On the log in screen, 

- Hold down Ctrl (Control) + Shift + R, Or
- Hold down Ctrl (Control) + Shift + click the Reload button.

3) Log in
