Subject: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bell

Eighteen years after “the first time he shook handles with a kettlebell,” Aleks Salkin, StrongFirst Certified Elite Instructor, comes full circle. He writes in his new article:

Ignoring its sovereignty was only to my detriment.

Despite your first love in the jolly old game of taming iron being the kettlebell, you may feel drawn to double down on your bodyweight strength a la the StrongFirst Bodyweight curriculum, or the desire to test powerlifting legend Kirk Karwoski’s theorem that “gravity is only a theory” via adopting StrongFirst barbell training protocols.

 

Whatever the case may be, don’t make the same mistake I did by wandering too far from the swing for too long. 

 

Even light swings done periodically can still confer spectacular benefits to the body....
