Recently, this lead Spencer Hospital PT’s to take part in an intensive dry needling (DN) course. Dry needling has been effectively used by PT’s throughout the world, but it is a relatively new treatment in Northwest Iowa. So, what is dry needling and how can it help you?

Spencer Hospital Initiates Formal Relationship with Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint & Sports Surgeons |

| The Spencer Hospital Board of Trustees approved a collaborative business relationship with Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint & Sports Surgeons during its December board meeting. Known as “provider-based status,” the regional orthopedic practice essentially becomes a department of the hospital.
Bill Bumgarner, Spencer Hospital president, shared that the hospital has appreciated a collegial relationship with the professionals of Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint & Sports Surgeons for years. The establishment of a formal relationship will enhance long-term planning, service integration, business efficiency and physician recruitment.

| Hospice of Spencer Hospital offers 6-week Understanding Grief Support Group |

To help people cope with the death of a loved one, Hospice of Spencer Hospital is offering a 6-week Understanding Grief Support Group. The group will meet each Tuesday evening beginning January 7 through February 11, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Spencer Hospital Women's Center.

Spencer Hospital Designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence
|
|
Spencer Hospital has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the only hospital in the region to have earned that distinction.
By awarding imaging centers the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes facilities that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.

Robin Keith, cellist, and Marianne Fuchsen, piano accompaniment, will be playing a holiday concert in the Spencer Hospital Main Lobby on Christmas Eve from 12PM - 2PM. Patients, guests, and Spencer Hospital employees are welcome to attend and enjoy the holiday music.
