Subject: LA Fires Update 🔥🙏

Dear Friend,

So many of you have reached out to check on me during the LA fires, thank you so much!!

I have not been directly threatened by fire this time. However, even if there's no direct threat of fire, PSPS's (Public Safety Power Shutoffs) are a thing now every time we have extreme fire conditions. Last week there was no power or internet for half the business week. More about our CA fires below.

ORDERS & CONSULTATIONS: FIRE & POWER SHUTOFF DELAYS

> Instant personal timing calendars and relationship reports

1-hour delivery is unaffected. Servers are not in CA.

>Custom date selection orders, Premium All-1 Calendars, other custom orders
I do these myself, could be delayed. I'll email you if a delay is unavoidable.

>Orders needing manual processing: Data entry errors or undeliverable email status
May be delayed, our customer service team is in So. Cal. We'll take care of you soonest.

>Consultations

If our scheduled session falls during a potential power shutoff, we'll email you to reschedule your session.

We SO appreciate your understanding and patience. Many thanks to those who have been so sweet about short delays in receiving your orders!! I'm working on a backup generator solution for my office but there are a lot of moving parts before that is fully in place. As always, I do my best to serve.

More about fires, Cali and LA

What drives our So. Cal. fires is extreme winds. Though we've always had our "Santa Ana" winds, today they are more frequent, occurring through more months of the year, and blowing at higher velocity than in the past. Couple extreme low humidity and hurricane-force winds with urban sprawl and drought, and a tiny fire becomes a roaring inferno so quickly that support infrastructure - water and firefighters - can get overwhelmed. This time LA had 2 devastating fires exploding simultaneously.

This is our new reality in beautiful California. I evacuated in 2018, the Woolsey fire burned houses as close as across the street and 2 houses up. Evac sleepovers with everyone's animals is how we roll these days: sometimes as hosts, sometimes as evacuees. We're constantly checking fire apps and maps for location and wind direction, texting and updating each other. I'm currently working on "fire-hardening" my home, hardened structures can survive when others burn.

Please know that LA is not just rich people. Terrified seniors evacuated in the middle of the night... Veteran's Hospital evacuated... Police telling people to abandon cars in gridlock and try to run for it. 1000s with recently-cancelled fire insurance. 10s of 1000s with nowhere to go. LA is an industry town with workers at every level. Our strengths are usually-great weather, an upbeat mindset, vibrant creative ferment, hustle culture (pro AND con), and deep and broad acceptance of individual differences. But our people and families are just like any other people and families, and many have lost everything. Plenty of loved ones are still missing. There are lots of fundraisers and go-fund-me's if you want to help.

Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Appalachia, Florida... These are some recent US disasters, but extreme weather events are equally devastating worldwide.

We are ONE. One Song. Uni-verse. May we keep our hearts open to one another. May we offer grace to those who are hurting.

At the end of the day, it's our beloved family and friends, our little tribes, and our broader communities that matter most. May we all hold each other very close, and very dear.
