There is a lot being said online about those who have platforms who are not speaking out now. I’m speaking out unmistakably in my personal life. As a syndicated columnist, in my work life, I’m not allowed to be ‘political.’

If you believe that a world based on systems of control and oppression is just fine, we are very misaligned.

Since I do not agree that the past was so wonderful, I am choosing to see what looks like dismantling as hopefully leading to something much kinder and more sustainable for Mother Earth and all her children.

I believe we can build something better.
Something that holds the most vulnerable instead of exploiting the most vulnerable.

To do that, you need to be strong.
To be strong you need to keep your mind strong.
Curate your inputs, don’t let yourself be baited to rage, fear, or entitlement.

Frame yourself as a survivor, not a victim.

Pick a place you can make a difference and roll up your sleeves.
Big or small, it’s the energy of belonging to the future, of being part of building it, that can keep you going.

With the fire of hope in your heart.

Hope.

Dream.

Build.

Vote.
