Hi Folks.
This is to let you know that the US Government has "shut down" temporarily due to the inability of all parties involved to reach an agreement on any sort of budget that will allow the government to continue daily operations.
The reason that is important to traders is that part of the shutdown involves the various agencies that post those numbers I write about every week and which sometimes play a part in our daily trading.
Numbers such as the Non-Farm Payroll, which was on tap to be released Friday at 8:30 a.m. eastern time, but which, for now, may not and likely won't be released until this budget impasse is resolved.
This will also apply to all the other numbers as well, at least the ones generated by a U.S. Government Agency.
The private numbers, such as the ADP Non-Farm Payroll due out in a couple of hours, will not be affected at all.
So be aware that some of the numbers currently on this week's calendar may not see the light of day until this budget issue is resolved, and that can take anywhere from a day or so, to several weeks (the longest was 35 days, running from December 2018 to January 2019, but since it stretched over the Christmas/New Year holidays, no one really noticed).
I will still write up the Forecast with whatever numbers the FF Calendar provides, but the big ones like NFP and CPI are on hold until further notice.
