Senior-6 — preparing for their moment Hello, Friend,
Meet the class that's carrying the school's highest hopes. They are the ones under the most pressure in the second of three school terms, which began last week. They'll take their Ugandan Advanced Certificate of Education exams in November.
This is the class whose enthusiasm made the Lake Mburo National Park trip with P-6 last October so successful. When I met with them in March, they assured me they would do well on the exams. Very well. 'We were first in the district in P-7, and we were first in S-4. We will be first in Senior 6.' Their track record backs up their conviction.
Their love of learning, resilience, integrity, brightness, and kindness tell me they'll become the leaders Uganda needs. I can see future lawyers, doctors, teachers, engineers, nurses, tour guides, pastors, and pilots, to name a few.
Gratefully, Elaine P.S. Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Donations to the Buy Breakfast appeal have reached $5,156. This is funding for nine weeks of meals for the whole school, leaving six weeks uncertain. With the Ebola border closure, families are facing even more than the usual economic strain, and breakfast at school is more vital than ever. Your gifts help fuel the bright minds preparing to become tomorrow's leaders. Buy Breakfast
