Our 'Singing Midwife' shared this today Hello, Friend,
This photo from Hamdan was among my messages early this morning. It's encouraging that the Ugandan government is aggressively dealing with this disease outbreak. It's also encouraging to see the very low number of cases in the country, with only one death and two recoveries.
Closing the DR Congo border has many implications for commerce in Uganda, but it's a small, and hopefully short-term, sacrifice. For example, the truck traffic that many Mustard Seed parents rely on for their income has largely halted, meaning our families will need more help with food and care.
It's also good news that Hamdan is doing okay. Let's keep him and all healthcare workers in prayer.
Gratefully, Elaine P.S. Your response to last week's Foto Friday message was so encouraging. Thank you! 40% of the needed funds for breakfast for the term have been donated; there are still several weeks that need breakfast funding. $13 buys breakfast for one student for the whole term.
