Representing the Class of 2017 Happy Friday from Lukaya, Friend,
Last Saturday, something extraordinary happened in Lukaya.
Ten graduating classes of Mustard Seed Academy alumni—our "old boys" and "old girls"—came home. Not for a ceremony or obligation, but because Hadijjah, from the Pioneer Class, had an idea: Why celebrate her diploma in clinical medicine alone when she could gather everyone to celebrate all their stories?
For me, it was a day of immense pride and joy. I was the Jjajja (grandmother) of these wonderful young adults—the fruits of Mustard Seed Academy. Doctor, lawyer, teacher, chef, salesman, engineer, author, secretary, TV announcer, fashion designer... Mothers and fathers! Oh, the stories!
You, too, are an essential part of their stories. Without your support, their stories would only be dreams.
Gratefully, Elaine |
