After years of support from afar, Bernie and Sharon finally meet some of students and staff of Mustard Seed
Warm Greetings Friend,
Schools have not yet opened in Uganda, but on Tuesday, several students and staff gathered at Mustard Seed for lunch and a small celebration. An American couple, Bernie Milano and Sharon Pierson, longtime sponsors and supporters of the school, were in Uganda and arranged to pay a visit.
It's hard to say who was more excited. Sharon messaged us, "an incredible experience. Brought happy tears—really felt the emotion of these precious souls — their courage, their effort, their perseverance!!"
And Davis, now a university student, wrote a rap song of appreciation that included, "My mother had no solution, the road was unclear, then you showed up. You strengthened my future with a strong foundation. You stood like my parents from nursery to university, from classroom to lecture room."
How I wish every supporter could spend at least 24 hours getting to know the students, staff, and school that is moving mountains.
Gratefully, Elaine
