Kneeling for a blessing in anticipation of their

Primary Leavers Exams

Warm Greetings from frigid New Jersey,  Friend,

Listen closely. You may be able to hear the cheering all the way from Mustard Seed. The Primary Leavers Exam results are in, and the news is extraordinary.

Out of 36 students, 17 achieved the highest mark—a 1st grade. To put this in perspective, many schools outside of the big cities celebrate when even one student achieves a 'First.' And all 36 students passed, meaning they have qualified for Secondary education in Uganda.

The Mustard Seed motto is "We can move mountains." With these results, the students have done exactly that—moving the mountain of poor education and lack of opportunity that once stood in their way. This photo, taken in October as the class knelt for a blessing before their exams, captures the humility, hope, and determination needed for such incredible success.

You helped make this possible. Your support for trained, caring teachers, learning resources, and a nurturing environment gave these students the foundation they needed to succeed. Because of you, they are climbing toward a brighter future—one that now includes Secondary school and new possibilities.

Gratefully,
Elaine
