Tell a friend about CFF Industry Day

Hello Friend,

CFF INDUSTRY DAY lands on Monday 27 October and it’s built for real connection. Grab your pass, meet people, and plug into what’s happening now.

The centrepiece is our State of the Industry panel at 12:45 with Sara Putt (Chair of BAFTA), Tolu Stedford (Executive Producer and CEO of Story Compound) , Tina Gharavi (BAFTA-nominated filmmaker) and Luc Roeg (CEO of Independent Entertainment). Expect straight talk, fresh perspective and BSL throughout.

From there, the BFI NETWORK South East keeps the momentum up with their Short Film Showcase, followed by Behind the Shorts: Meet the Filmmakers, then Feature Focus: In Conversation with Charlotte Regan (SCRAPPER), before Networking Drinks to round things off. Accreditation is pay what you can afford, so hopefully nobody’s priced out. Book it, block the day, and bring a stack of cards!

One more headline for your diary. We’ve just added HAMNET for a special screening on Fri 24 October at 22:15 at Arts Picturehouse. Tickets will move quickly. Full details below.

Please push Industry Day out to your circles. Forward this to filmmakers, students and tutors. The bigger the room, the better the conversations.

We are thrilled that HAMNET is in CFF44 as a late addition for one special screening.

Directed by Academy Award winning director Chloé Zhao and starring Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal and Zac Wishart, HAMNET reimagines Maggie O’Farrell’s bestseller with quiet intensity.

Set in late 16th-century Stratford-upon-Avon, it follows Agnes, a healer with a rare sensitivity, and William, a struggling London playwright, as they face an unthinkable loss. The focus is intimate, and towards those living in Shakespeare’s margins, most of all a boy whose name would echo through time, and as a result and the emotions of the film carry weight.

One night only! Fri 24 October, 22:15, at the Arts Picturehouse.
