NLRB / Union Activity Update
Follow-Up
October 2025

Hi everyone,

If you missed this month’s LRI Client Update, here’s the quick download:

🔹 Shutdown Drags On—week three with no deal. The NLRB’s site is still dark, but LRI RightNow is fully operational, data, charts all live and ready.

🔹 NLRB Still Without a Quorum. With just one member (David Prouty) seated, there’s no quorum. GOP nominee James Murphy was moved forward, but Scott Mayer remains stalled in the Senate.

🔹 GC Reset Underway. Acting GC Bill Cowen is already rolling back Abruzzo-era guidance on settlements, salts, and ULP deferrals while Crystal Carey (Trump nominee) also moves toward final confirmation.

Strikes Everywhere:

🔹Boeing (IAM): Ten weeks in St. Louis, no talks scheduled, replacement hiring ramping up.

🔹GE Aerospace (UAW): Ended after three weeks with 21% raises.

🔹Kaiser Permanente: 31,000+ on strike again for five days, no deal yet.

🔹Volkswagen Chattanooga: VW went public with its “last, best, and final” offer. No ratification vote yet.

🔹 On the Hill. The Faster Labor Contracts Act and the Employee Rights Act, introduced in the Senate by Tim Scott, continue to be discussed.

A question about Teamster strike benefits was raised by someone on the call, inquiring whether anyone had heard about the union paying $1000 a week in strike benefits. We conducted research and confirmed that this is occurring, apparently under certain circumstances.

(2024) Teamsters Website: In a major development in the fight for a strong contract protecting 5,000 Teamsters at Anheuser-Busch, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters announced today it will more than double strike pay to $1,000 per week for Anheuser-Busch Teamsters nationwide.

💬 Client Share

“The Teamsters paid $1,000 a week in strike benefits, but they couldn’t stop operations. In the end, they begged for a settlement.

All ten local contracts were signed on staggered terms — every local waived its right to honor picket lines. Total surrender. It can happen if you’re ready to replace your workforce and keep rolling.”

Preparation isn’t just strategy — it’s survival.
