Hi Friend,
So, it's the New Year. And you know what that means, don't you?
It means, from January 1st, you'll be a different person!
Yep. It's true! Forget the years of ingrained bad habits in all areas of your life... somehow, as if by magic, you're going to suddenly change all that from the midnight chimes and become a brand new you! Okay. Put like that, and you can see how ridiculous this New Year Resolutions thing is, can't you? So, it should come as no surprise to discover the vast majority of New Year's Resolutions crash and burn.
Here are some sobering figures for you:
According to research performed at the University of Scranton, just 8% of people succeed in achieving their resolutions. Or, to put it another way, a whopping 92% of people fail… But wait, the numbers keep on getting worse: 76% of these people fail consistently, year after year.
What happens to make people fail so disastrously?
I don't pretend to have any magic answers... but I CAN tell you, bad things happen when people try to do too much.
For anyone who wants to get in shape, this means you must AVOID much of the so-called advice you hear peddled in gyms, and instead make exercise an easy-to-follow habit.
Power of Habit
Making exercise an easy-to-follow habit begins when you keep things simple. Put the power of habit into action, and amazing stuff starts to happen.
Writing in "The Power of Habit", Charles Duhigg explains how exercise is a gateway habit with amazing transformative powers. Or, to put it simply, exercise properly and your whole life improves.
How much exercise do you need to enjoy these life benefits?
Here's the thing… you need LESS than you might think.
Dr Mark Hamer is a lead researcher at University College London, and has this to day: "Every 10 minutes counts. So even hopping off the bus a couple of stops early or taking a brisk walk on your lunch break will help."
This straightforward strategy works just as effectively when you're building muscle. The secret, is to make your weight training an easy-to-follow habit too.
Obey this simple rule, and you'll soon succeed in your resolution to build a stronger, more muscular body. To learn more, go to… Benefits of Regular Exercise
