Subject: Muscle Confessions: Oxford Graduate Geek to Bodybuilding Freak

Happy Holidays, Friend!

I love this time of year. Not only do I get to catch up with friends and family over the festive season, but I get to burn through some of my Christmas reading-list.

The book I’m currently reading is a warts-and-all memoir, Muscle: Confessions of an Unlikely Bodybuilder, and tells the tale of Oxford graduate Samuel Fussell’s journey from geek to bodybuilding freak — the author would go onto gain over 80 pounds of muscle!

It’s a fabulous book and should be in every serious weightlifter’s library.

But don’t just take my word for it. Check out some of these glowing reviews:

“A kind of beefcake Alice in Wonderland… Hilarious… Marvellous, entertaining.”—The Boston Globe

“A powerful, funny, and disturbing book, a classic piece of Americana.”—Entertainment Weekly

“Lively and enjoyable… A modern cautionary tale on answered prayers… A very good book.”—The Washington Post

“Easily the best memoir ever written about weight training, steroids and all.”—Men’s Journal
