| | T.Rex: Greatest of All Tyrants is Now Open T.Rex is now open at Longway Planetarium. The film follows the remarkable true story of four kids who discovered a young T.rex fossil in North Dakota. Presented in dazzling animation and documentary video, T.Rex showcases this famous dino in a brand new format in collaboration with top tyrannosaur scientists, a coalition of natural history institutions, and pioneering paleo and visual effects artists. Produced by Giant Screen Films, T.Rex presents the most accurate giant screen documentary ever made on this legendary predator and its carnivorous Cretaceous cousins. Narrated by Sam Neill.
Recommended for ages 10+ due to some realistic dinosaur fighting animation. T.Rex shows will run at 4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets and information at SloanLongway.org/T-Rex. View the movie trailer here. Tickets may be purchased in advance on the website, in person, or by calling Longway Planetarium at (810) 237-3400.
Dinosaur fans will also want to see the new limited-run exhibition at Sloan Museum of Discovery across the street from the planetarium, ICE DINOSAURS: THE LOST WORLD OF THE ALASKAN ARCTIC, which also opens January 20. Guests who would like to see both T.Rex and ICE DINOSAURS on the same day may inquire at Guest Services about purchasing a combo-ticket for a discount on same-day visits to both venues. |
