Avoid the "summer slide" with hands-on science camps and workshopsChoose from over 20 day camps and 47 hands-on workshops for preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school kids, presented by Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum educators.

D&D Nights
June 10 and June 24 | 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Join us this summer for a special "one-shot" Dungeons & Dragons campaign, designed for families, first-time players, and seasoned adventurers! Whether you're brand new to the game or a longtime hero of the realms, there's a seat at the table for you. Event dates and tickets are available here.

Current Traveling Exhibit: The Lost World of Dragons
Now Open through September 13

Explore the legends behind these mythical beasts in this 6000 square foot interactive exhibition inspired by dragon mythology. This exhibit features life-size animatronic dragons and interactive displays.

"Change Starts Here" Exhibit - Free with General Admission
Opens June 5 

Opening June 5, explore this exhibit free with your museum admission in celebration of America 250. Sloan will feature a timeline-based exhibit with artifacts, text panels and graphics highlighting significant events in Genesee County and how they influenced national events. This exhibit will be on display in the Sloan Museum circulation corridor during regular museum hours.

Charles Stewart Mott Foundation Family Fun Days, June 5-7, 2026

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and the Flint Cultural Center institutions invite the Flint community for a weekend full of free fun and celebration in honor of the Mott Foundation's 100th Anniversary! Activities will happen rain or shine, as most activities can be moved indoors.


As part of the celebration, Longway Planetarium is offering free shows on June 5, 5-8pm, and June 6, noon-6pm. There will also be regularly priced shows from 7-8pm on June 6.


Sloan Museum of Discovery is offering free admission to The Lost World of Dragons exhibit, as well as general admission, on June 5, 5-8pm, and June 6, 10am-6pm. Guests may also participate in special free activities, including a seedling giveaway in the lobby, a soap box derby competition in Durant Vehicle Gallery, and table tennis in the Community Room.

Sloan Museum Auto Fair June 27-28 at Crossroad Village


The 54th Annual Sloan Museum Auto Fair will be on the grounds of Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad June 27-28, 2026 for this year only. The iconic auto fair will showcase vintage working trucks along with hundreds of show cars, antique tractors and classic vehicles. Attendees will also enjoy live music all weekend long, featuring the talented young performers of Third Degree Burns and DJ Scott Kuhl. For the kids there will be Make and Take activities, and a variety of food vendors to keep everyone fueled up for the fun! The entry fee is $10 for ages 12+ and free for kids under age 12. If you'd like to be a participant, you can register your show vehicle here, or go to SloanAutoFair.com for details.

One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure premieres June 23
Join Big Bird, Elmo and their new friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu as they learn about the Sun, the Moon, and the Big Dipper, then blast off in an imaginary rocket to the Moon! Along the way, they invite the audience to sing along to songs about space and celebrate the sky that belongs to everyone. It’s the perfect introduction to space for our littlest astronomers! Recommended for ages 3+.
