Subject: In the Dojo, Repetition is the Mother of All...

Friend,

Lately, one of the fancy buzzwords being bandied around in the marketing world is "iteration."

Iteration means nothing more than repeating something, over and over again. And in marketing-speak, it simply means finding something that works, and doing lots more of it.

However, it also refers the the act of duplicating your content in multiple places and on multiple platforms. This can greatly increase your market reach and improve the response from your marketing campaigns, simply by allowing you to reach more people.

So, how can you use iteration (repetition and duplication) in marketing your martial art school?

Well, I often see school owners using only one or two marketing methods or channels to get the word out on their programs. Lately the flavor of the month is Facebook, and rightly so, because Facebook ads work.

But, if the only way you use Facebook to market your school is with the odd boosted post every now and again, you are seriously missing the boat. You can also use video, image ads, offer ads, and more to get the message out about your programs.

And that's just on Facebook. Say you created a video promo for your school. You might post it to Facebook, and then maybe boost that post, and leave it at that. That's what most school owners would do.

But, if you were smart and decided to use iteration to your advantage, you'd also do the following:
  • Create a video ad on Facebook, targeting users in your area
  • Post it to YouTube
  • Post it on your school blog
  • Share the YouTube video and blog post on all your other social media accounts
  • Post it to Instagram
  • Create a matching image ad and share that everywhere as well
  • Play that promo on repeat on a large screen TV or monitor in the front window of your school
As you can see, there are many more ways to use the same content on other platforms and channels to get the word out on your programs.

So, be sure to "iterate" your content far and wide from now on, so you leverage your efforts when marketing your dojo.

Until next time,
