Subject: Destiny at the Cow Palace...

Hey Friend,

The Beatles kicked off their first North American tour 56 years ago today, August 19, 1964.

Apparently, they didn’t understand the full scope of what they had started back in February ’64 on the Ed Sullivan Show.

They did three additional shows on the US East coast and then headed back to England, only to return to the states in August to kick off a national tour.

When you look at their touring and show schedule for 1964, it really is amazing what they accomplished, considering (travel and equipment)

They did 155 concerts and TV shows, and traveled to 11 countries: England, USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Denmark.

I guess they were setting the standard for touring and recording, because in the midst of the travel and shows, they were also in the studio recording more music.

The work ethic is respectable, and the world has benefited in untold ways by the legacy they created.

For Beatles fans that want to geek out on the band there is a wealth of knowledge on the songs, concerts, and history, from the perspective of Paul McCartney. Careful though, it really is a rabbit hole you could end up spending a bunch of time exploring!

Check out The Paul McCartney Project.

Peace~

Dave
