Hey Friend,

My daughter announced the first shocker of the year this morning, telling us Meatloaf passed away.

Damn!

I didn’t realize “Bat Out of Hell” came out in 1977 because I was still coming into my own musically. I think if I had brought that album home my parents would've shipped me off to Bible school!

But I do remember it being played heavily in the early 80s while I was in high school.

I also didn’t realize when I saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1981 that Meatloaf was part of the cast (along with Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon), playing the part of Eddie.

The guy was an incredible showman and had an incredible career in music and film.

It’s sad to hear he’s gone.
