It's been a rollercoaster for us at GardnerGlobal & Onpoint. We applied for a grant at the city of Seattle's Office of Economic Development and didn't get the grant. We applied to Washington state for the small business grant and we haven't heard anything since April. 

It has not been easy adjusting but because we were born out of adversity, we see this global pandemic as an opportunity to continue to be creative around how we push our mission of #LETSBUILDWEALTH for Black and Brown folks. I'm a firm believer that chaos creates opportunity and I'm thankful that the team has been ready to act on those opportunities from development to property management. This is a time for growth, no excuses!

Although we thought our own city of Seattle and Washington state had our back that wasn't the case. But when has lack of support ever stopped us?

Which brings me to my next topic: Black Lives Matter, Black Trans lives matter. 

There were a flurry of immediate statements sent out from all corners of the globe after the death of George Floyd -I waited to make a statement- Namely because I wanted to see if 52 days after the death of George Floyd if BLACK LIVES still MATTERED to you? Statements are nice but what actionable items have you done since then to maintain that support?

On behalf of GardnerGlobal and Onpoint Real Estate we support Black Lives, we support Black Trans Lives and we fully support our Black LGBTQ community. The BLM movement is not be a space for divisiveness because of sexual orientation or preference. There is no room in this movement for transphobia or homophobia. 

Why? "...because we understand for a single Black life to matter, all Black lives must matter" -BLMSKC

When we say #LETSBUILDWEALTH we want you to know that this is an inclusive mantra regardless of ones self-defined identity. We rock with ya'll, hand down. Know that!

So let's go out and get it...together!
