There's ten angles in there, four for the Summer Jumps and six for The Flat. The main report, including these angles, are firing out winners so far this season, 14 and counting, a decent 'starting point' if nothing else. Remember these angles are based on the trainers' modus operandi and not the ability of the horse on the day. 

The Summer Jumps portfolio is currently 10/52,19p, -2.6 (1 point win) to 9am prices after a 13/2 winner yesterday, and if they keep that win strike rate up they may well work systematically, but time will tell.

A few flat pointers/’ways in’ for Thursday…

I’ve got into the habit of highlighting a stat or two which does well the day after posting. (the in-from Tuite at Goodwood, a 33s>6s winner the next day, the in-form G Tuer on Tuesday, who then had a decent priced winner at Hamilton on Wednesday, as well as a shorty) We shall see what the below has in store…

Carlisle…

I wouldn’t normally highlight 2YO races (and it will be testing ground, so even more of a guess up maybe) but one stat caught my eye… Karl Burke is 5/14,8p at the track with his 1st Time Out 2YOs in the last 5 years, +13 SP. He’s got ‘qualifiers’ in the 5.30 and 18.05. That’s the sort of ‘micro’ that may well just keep ticking over in time.

Also in the 18.05 is Firebomb, representing Bryan Smart who can ready them, 4/21,6p +27 SP with his 1st time out 2YOs in the last year. He had a nice one go in at York so I suppose he’s got a ‘marker’ horse for his 2YOs now (who can get close to him at home on the gallops etc) Harrison Shaw rides this one, and he’s 3/12,6p +34 on Smart’s horses in the last year, maybe a combo to keep an eye on.

Beechwood Emily represents the Dalgleish/Gray combo in the 19.50. Keith has five runners on the card and this is the only one Shane’s riding, whether that’s significant I don’t know, but they’re 8/32, 13p, +30 SP when teaming up on all runners at the track in the last 5 years. With horses aged 3, as she is, those stats improve to 6/13,7p +41. (now a non-runner but a combo to keep an eye on here) 

Haydock…

Michael Dods is a trainer to note around here, 19/96, 33p, +31 all runners in the last 5 years, 7/26, 10p in the last year, +29. He does even better when Connor Beasley is riding his Haydock raiders, 6/17, 9p +38 in the last 2 years. They team up in the 3.55, 4.30 and 5pm. Given those stats all three may be worth a closer look.

And finally, to Sandown…

Marco Ghiani is a 3lb claimer worth keeping onside, for all i’m not sure how long that claim will last if he keeps riding as he is. 5/18,8p +49 SP in the last 14 days (includes a 40/1 winner). His boss is Stewart Williams but his only ride on the day is for William Stone in the 8pm here (3 rides at Brighton on Friday). Again, whether that means much who knows, but he is 3/9,6p on the trainer’s handicappers in the last year, so maybe it is significant. The yard are in form and the horse races prominently and I suspect will lead or sit very handy through this, can he be in the mix at 11s? 

Do with that lot as you please but a few horses to flick through if you so wish and stats to note for Thursday/the coming days/future meetings.
