The ancient capital of Denmark with
an abundance of cyclists, Nordic food and hygge
Although the actual date of Copenhagen’s founding is disputed, a key
milestone was in the year 1160 A.D. when King Valdemar conveyed the city to
Bishop Absalon as a token of his gratitude. The
inner city of Copenhagen still largely consists of buildings from the 15th
to the 19th century, which do not rise above the height of the
towers and spires of the Town Hall, the Parliament and the churches of the old
city.
Walk in the fairytale footsteps of the Danish
storyteller Hans Christian Andersen and feel the vibrant modern city with streets
filled with cyclists, an exciting and ever flourishing restaurant scene,
combined with the coziness and easy-going of the Danes.
The Danish Gambling Authority looks very
much forward to welcoming you to Copenhagen in September 2018!
Details for Copenhagen 2018 will be shared after the gathering in
Johannesburg later this year.
