Reconstructing the Cross // FRI APR 14 @ 8PM // main hall // Have you had trouble finding love in history's most famous execution? Many Christians have found in it affirmation of God's unconditional love. But others have struggled with variations of the story that says, "God was so angry that He wanted to kill you but He killed Jesus instead." If you've been deconstructing that story maybe you've also been looking for other stories that revere Jesus' death and resurrection. Using scripture, prayer, and song our Good Friday worship gathering will create sacred space to reconstruct the Cross. What if the Cross is the climax of the Hebrew stories about exodus and exile? Let's look together for God's love in stories about liberation for the oppressed and homecoming for those who are alienated from God's family.
