Partnering with Community Kitchen for Lent
Hazelwood neighbors, Community Kitchen, use food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities. Because they believe that every person who comes through their doors is inherently worthy (we have that in common) and has the potential to reach and exceed their goals, regardless of their past or present, they work to provide opportunities for success and lifelong careers. We'll be partnering with them during the Lenten season in two ways:
Online Ash Wednesday Study

Lauren is leading an online bible study to kick off this partnership. We'll be talking about how awesome Community Kitchen is and what all of this has to do with the themes of Lent and Easter to hopefully make your volunteer shift a more meaningful experience.
Fish Fry Volunteers
Fridays, March 7- April 11 @ 4-7 PM

Nothing more Pittsburgh than a fish fry! This one brings in funding for Community Kitchen's work and this is an opportunity to show up as good neighbors with extra helping hands. We'll be doing simple tasks like handing out orders; volunteers get a free dinner and a t-shirt.
Our goal is to send two volunteers each week during lent, but we can send more if families want to sign up as whole.

Celebrate the sale of our Southside building, it's an occasion that calls for cake! Eight months ago we made the decision to let go of our building to financially support our future. Now that moment has come when we can begin to reinvest into our community's priorities! Cheers to us!

Every week we typically sing a few songs, share some prayer requests, have a sermon, and share in communion together. ASL interpretation is offered online.
Kiddos are always joyfully welcomed in our service; noises, wiggles, and all! We currently do not have kids’ programming available, but we hope to rebuild our nursery program and kids’ Sunday School in early 2025 as we figure out our transition to Hazelwood.
