Subject: Entering Week 3 -- Zoom Prayer Meeting TOMORROW!

Dear Hot Metal Family,

We now enter into week 3 of physical distancing, with restrictions growing stronger and the timeline growing longer. Perhaps the weariness is weighing on you; I know it's weighing on me. And yet, this is also officially the last week of Lent, a time where we have been intentionally thinking about the ways in which God shows up, even in the wilderness. I find comfort in hearing all your God Sighting that are shared in the Facebook Group and Zoom gatherings. I give thanks for the ways in which the Table continues to be a place where people are fed physically and spiritually. I am so grateful to be a part of this community that reminds me that resurrection is just around the corner!

So please, continue to be connected. We are especially grateful for the ways in which generosity is showing up in the midst of uncertainty and sadness. If you are able, we are in need of both financial contributions and donations of non-perishable food items to give away to those in need. Those physical donations can be made Tuesday/Thursday 3:30-6:30, or by leaving donations by the parking lot door if you can't come during those times. Financial contributions both to the Table specifically or the ministry of Hot Metal generally can be made via our website.

Please continue to take care of yourselves, and don't hesitate to reach out to me, Autumn, and others in this special community! We're in this together!

Peace,
Pastor Erin

In-Person Worship Postponed Through May 10th //
This week, Hot Metal's Council met via Zoom and decided officially to extend the postponement of Hot Metal's in-person worship through Sunday, May 10th. This is in line with current CDC recommendations for gatherings over 50 people. These guidelines are subject to change, and if they do, we will adjust our schedule as needed. We will continue to monitor CDC and other recommendations. This means that Holy Week and Easter worship will continue to be on virtual platforms. Please make sure you are connected on Facebook and YouTube.

The body of Christ has always celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus in a variety of ways. This year, perhaps we will channel the early church, who could not publicly gather on the day of Easter, but found ways to proclaim the promise of an empty tomb in other ways. And, whenever we gather together in person, we will count as a "second Easter" of the year, where the fullness of resurrection is more deeply felt. I'm excited for whenever that is, and I will hold you in my heart until that day!
