If you're choosing to join the official City2Surf event, entry is $39, with $5 of your entry going to charity. I've created a Hooked on Running team, so make sure you join it if you're going down the official route. You can directly register as part of the Hooked on Running team here.
There's no need to register with the official event to be part of ours though.
The Bay Run: 8th November 7:30 am
Choose to run 5k, or run the whole loop of The Bay for an approximate 7k run. We'll be timing this one, or if you prefer, choose a flattish 5k or 7k course elsewhere.
More Details
For each of these runs, I've created an event page in the members area. You can log in from our website (and admire the new design at the same time!). Your username is your email address. If you can't remember your password, just click on the "forgotten username or password link".
Once you're logged in, click on "Events" in the left menu, then open the individual event. Make sure you let us know you're coming by clicking on the "Add Me" button. And do make use of the comments boxes to talk to everyone doing the event. Don't be shy!
It may turn out I have to stagger the start times due to restricted numbers. Unfortunately, we won't be able to congregate en mass after you run - community sport guidelines are to get in, run, and then leave, but a sit down on the grass with a coffee will definitely be on the agenda.
Awards
There'll be a few awards on offer for those of you who submit a time to me. You can either submit data from a tracking device - screen shot maybe, or via Strava, or you can time yourself with a stop watch and email me your result. Judges decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the accuracy of Strava or other tracking apps!! They are notoriously inaccurate, but we will just have to live with that.
Awards for:
Best age-graded score
Smartest run race (yes, completely subjective judging, but I'll explain my reasoning!)
Most improved from one race to the next - based on age graded tables
Closest to the mark- you let me know what time you think you'll run, and closest to that time wins - but if it's obvious you've slowed down considerably at the end to get closer to your time, the judge might take a very dim view :)
Age graded tables provide a way to compare the performance of people of different ages and genders, running across different distances, or to compare your own results across different distances - or against your younger self.
Any questions, please email or give me a call.
