2020 was a strange, challenging, fearful year. Throughout the year your support and presence gave me some peace and hope. Thank you.
Since I've not been working much, I’ve been using my time exploring how best to communicate and teach via Zoom, hiking, biking, watching movies, cooking and counting my blessings. I've also been doing a lot of studies through the Evidence Based Fitness Academy (EBFA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I recently passed my NASM Personal Fitness Certification test December 23rd. It was a lot of work, yet has influenced my teaching; including more dynamic approaches to increasing flexibility, endurance and strength.
I’ve slowly increased my fees over the year to where they were pre-pandemic in order to increase my income. That said, I do not want fees to keep anyone from participating. The pandemic has affected people financially very unequally, some are barely surviving, while others have had little change. If you are suffering financially, please let me know so I can provide a sliding scale or a scholarship. The holidays, politics and pandemic have been consuming much of our attention, so I’ve included my Jan/Feb teaching schedule below as a reminder of classes beginning in a couple days. Please try and register early, since it makes it easier to know who to send a ZOOM invitation to. If you send a check, please let me know since I'll probably not get it before the first class.
