Does your partner have questions about how to help you with your chronic illness?
Hi Friend,

Iv'e decided to do a few podcasts with an "Ask Kerry" theme and of course, I am telling you about it first because you are always going to be the first to know any of the new things I am doing or creating.

One of the things I most enjoy is getting to work not only with my clients who have chronic illness, but with their partner as well because they both need support in very different ways.

Chronic illness shows up all the cracks in your life and especially, in your relationships at a time when you most need support and your partner either doesn't understand what you are going through or feels overwhelmed and frustrated that they can't "fix it" for you.

It's so wonderful seeing the changes and renewed closeness and love coming back into their relationship once they get the new skills and framework and know how to communicate without conflict!

For my first "Ask Kerry" podcast, I want to answer questions from partners, parents or friends of yours who may be feeling frustrated about knowing what to do, how to help or what this chronic illness thing is all about.

So here's what I am inviting you to do:

  • Ask your partner, parent or friend who is open to it, if there was one thing they wanted to know to best support you with your chronic illness, what would that be?
  • What do they find confusing? What do they find frustrating? What feels overwhelming or that they struggle with now that chronic illness is part of your lives?
  • Then hit reply to this email and send the questions to me and I will answer them in an upcoming podcast and of course, no names or identifying information will be used and the questions will all be from 'anonymous'.

If this is something that would really benefit you or your partner, then submit your questions or issues and I will be happy to help!

New Podcast

One of the biggest issues of living with chronic illness is that people don't "get it".

They don't understand what it is, how much it impacts every part of your daily life and the complex emotions that go along with it.

And because people don't get it and there's so much lack of knowledge and acceptance, you can be left feeling isolated in your experience, feeling so much grief, anxiety and overwhelm and blaming yourself for not dealing with it as well as you think you should.

After working with 100's of clients around the world and my own experience living with four autoimmune diseases for over a decade now, I know that there are five key emotional issues that everyone with chronic illness feels at some point.

Not only that, I know that these emotions are a completely normal response and reaction to the life changing experience of becoming chronically ill.

In episode  9 of season 3, I will walk you through the five key emotional issues of chronic illness and explain how they can affect you so if you are wondering if what you are feeling is 'normal' or not, have a listen.

I promise it's not 'just you."

Trigger warning: I discuss suicidal thoughts near the end of the podcast and give a verbal warning of this in advance so you can choose to stop the podcast if this is a trigger for you.
