Hey there Friend
Did becoming chronically ill feel like you lost your old life and self?
Well, it certainly did to me and it's an ongoing grief that unfortunately, our families, communities and societies simply can't seem to understand.
Not everyone who lives with chronic illness has this experience, but after working with hundreds of clients around the world and talking with so many people about their experiences with chronic illness, I know that so many of us do.
Which is what my new podcast is all about and it's available to listen to and download now.
One of the biggest emotional issues that the people around us can't seem to understand is how becoming chronically ill feels like losing your old life and your old self.
It's one of those big, intensely personal catastrophic events where you can clearly see and describe how you used to be and how you are now, the before and the after when everything changed for you.
And it's not just the loss of your old self and life though that is hard enough to deal with.
It's the loss of your future and the life you thought you were going to have, the things you thought you would get to do and the loss of living in a fully functioning and reliable body.
It's also a loss that very few people can understand and a grief that is ongoing.
In this episode, I will walk you through what this grief is, why it happens and explain why it's so difficult to have it validated or accepted by others.
Let's talk about how it really feels to lose your old life and self to chronic illness and what it means for you.

My new Work with Me page is now live. Woo Hoo!
Friend I am so happy to finally have my Work with Me website page updated, published and ready for the world!
It contains pretty much everything you need to know about my programs, what they can give you, the kind of support and therapy you can expect and even, the answers to my frequently asked questions.
It feels like such a relief to have it done because it's been one of those big tasks that have been hanging over my head for at least 5 years now.
My next website project that I've started on already is creating an "About me" page that will be the focus of any spare energy I have for the next week or so.
Unless of course chronic illness decides to throw a spanner in the works as it is so often inclined to do and just like you, I can only do what I can with the health and energy I have right now.
I would love you to go and have a look and let me know what you think.
I even figured out how to create buttons on my website that connect to my Discovery Session bookings.
Technology tends to overwhelm my brain very easily so being able to figure out something like that felt like a major victory for me!
And if feeling like you have lost your old self and life to chronic illness is a grief you are struggling to deal with, make sure to book your FREE Discovery Session with me online now Friend, no matter where you are in the world.
I would really love to meet you to see if I can help!
Warm wishes |
