Hi Friend,
"Is this really worth it" is a question I have asked myself so many time as I struggle with some ongoing gut issues that are giving me sleepless nights and uncomfortable days right now.
It is the one thing that has persisted over these almost 5 years and I have already changed so much of my life, especially with what I eat.
Every time I get a reaction in my gut to something I have a moment of "Really? You are going to react to this too? Is there nothing that I can eat that you are actually going to be ok with any time soon?"
I have my moment (and there are many moments Friend just in case you think I have it all worked out) and sometimes the moment is grief and sometimes the moment is anger and sometimes the moment is feeling utterly over it all and just wanting this whole chronic illness thing to go away!
Can you relate?
Then after that moment, how ever long it takes to pass, I know the answer to my question is yes.
Absolutely.
100%.
No doubt in my mind at all.
Without all of the changes I have made and all of the things I have given up and all of the limitations that can seem at times, so overwhelming, without those changes I would still be disabled.
The things that I have given up have all been part of getting things back for me.
Important things like a brain that works, enough energy to generally get through my day, being able to work again, being able to have my daily walks, being able to laugh again and having many days where if I didn't know better, I would swear that I don't have chronic illness at all.
Until of course the chronic illness comes back to slap me in the face and remind me that yes, it is still there and not going anywhere permanently!
Life with chronic illness is an ongoing, ever changing, unpredictable experience with so many unknowns and so many uncertainties.
The one truth is that there is no one else who can take this burden from you and it takes a constant series of mindshift strategies to deal with the symptoms, changes, sacrifices and limitations to make the most of what you have available to you right now.
In fact, it was having all of those mindshift tools that I have learned over 12 years as working therapist that made all of the difference for me.
Without them, I honestly don't know if I could have picked myself up from my rock bottom and made the changes I have to get to where I am right now.
So if you are wondering yourself Friend whether everything you are trying to do right now, whether it's finding the right doctor to get the help or diagnosis you need, trying a new medication, changing your diet or getting some therapy is worth it, it absolutely is!
Because YOU are worth it and you deserve to have the best health, happiness and life that is available to you right now.
Don't give up.
The moments will pass and you will find your way again and remember, if you are feeling stuck and don't feel that you can do it alone, you don't have to.
You can book your FREE 25 minute Discovery Session with me using the link below and let's talk about how you feel and see how I can help.
(p.s. more will be coming soon about how you can learn these mindshift strategy secrets soon so stay tuned.)
warm wishes Kerry
