Safety & Emergency Resources

May 28, 2025 | Storm Update

Dear Neighbors,
As you know, the Austin area has been hit by a dangerous storm involving high winds, hail, and flooding. The City of Austin has been rapidly coordinating emergency services, and my team is in communication with multiple divisions, including Austin Energy and Austin Emergency Services. Our office is assessing damage in District 10 and throughout Austin.

As hard-hitting storms continue to move through the area tonight, Austin Energy is working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power. Crews are reporting extensive damage, indicating repairs will take time. As of 8:30pm, there were 213 separate outages affecting 64,773 customers. Currently, District 10 has 9,906 customers out.

Below please find safety and emergency resources and information for the Austin area, including social media links and web resources plus information on reporting power outages and downed tree limbs.

Please stay in touch with your neighbors and share these resources.

You can always reach out to our office with questions – contact as us at district10@austintexas.gov
