Subject: Great Hills Park Volunteer Day

You can help prevent wildfires this Saturday!

Brush clean up event THIS Saturday!

Saturday May 31 | Great Hills Neighborhood Park | Volunteer with Council Member Duchen!

My office is teaming up with Austin Parks Foundation to reduce wildfire risk at Great Hills Neighborhood Park by removing “dead-and-down” brush from the 2023 ice storm. We’d love to have your help.

WHEN: Saturday May 31, 9am - 12pm

WHERE: Great Hills Neighborhood Park, Floral Park Trailhead

SIGN UP: Register here

Join your neighbors and me, your D10 Council Member, in supporting our neighborhood park. We'll help cut and move dry brush to the trailhead for haul-away. Dead brush creates wildfire risk, and this project will serve as a pilot for low-cost fire-mitigation solutions.

Your volunteer efforts will help protect the surrounding neighborhood, especially during our hot summer. We need about 25 volunteers to make a big impact, so bring a friend!

Please wear long sleeves and pants to protect from scratches, and bring a reusable water bottle. Thank you for giving back to our parks and green spaces!

Questions? Send us a note at district10@austintexas.gov or call us at 512-978-2110.

See you on Saturday!
