Subject: Sept. 7 Homelessness Town Hall Reminder

Dear Neighbors,

I hope everyone had a fun Labor Day weekend with their loved ones. I wanted to remind folks of the upcoming District 10 Town Hall on Homelessness taking place this Saturday, September 7, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church (Huffman Hall) beginning at 10 a.m. Please note I have extended the town hall an extra half hour until 11:30 a.m. We will use the first hour or so to discuss city efforts to reduce homelessness and listen to neighbors' experiences and suggestions. The remaining time will be structured to provide attendees with an opportunity to connect with current service providers, law enforcement officials, and other community members and to identify ways to plug into solution-oriented efforts.

If you are planning to attend on Saturday, please email your RSVP to April.Brown@austintexas.gov. Additionally, we are working to obtain information to the questions my office has received ahead of the town hall. If you have specific questions, please send those to April Brown as well.

For those who cannot attend but would like to ask questions or connect with service providers, feel free to share your comments and questions with us via email or by calling us at (512) 978-2110

Please also note that Council will begin budget adoption on September 10, and will vote on a final budget on or before Thursday, September 12. Below, you will find information about how to speak with my staff at this Friday's District 10 Budget Office Hours, as well as details on upcoming public forums on homelessness. Both the budget and the homelessness crisis are major topics in our city, and we need our entire community to engage if we want to achieve the best outcomes. I appreciate all of you who have taken the time to communicate with me on these issues, and I look forward to seeing more of you this weekend.

Regards,
Alison Alter
