Every online guru wants to tell you how to run your business.
Unfortunately, most of the advice they give you isn't going to help.
Think...
> Comment 100x a day
> Write 10,000 words a week
> Read 10 books in your niche
While reading, writing and commenting can all help you build skills, they're not going to get you paid.
So what should you do instead?
You need to adopt 3 activities a day that bring you closer to your goals.
1) An activity that brings you new clients
While posting on social media is a good way to do this long term, you want to start with something more direct.
For me, this involves cold email, cold DM's and freelancing sites.
You want to send at least 10 personalised DM's, 5 personalised emails and 3 freelance job applications a day.
95% of the time you'll be ignored.
3% of the time you'll be rejected.
And the remaining 2% could be your future clients.
2) An activity that delivers results for clients
Landing a client is the easy part, now you need to deliver.
I dedicate at least 3 to 4 hours a day to completing client work.
My jobs involve:
> Research
> Writing emails
> Editing landing pages
Whatever your client needs, go above and beyond to deliver.
Write an extra subject line.
Give them an extra email variation.
Offer alternate headlines for the landing page.
By going beyond what's expected, you'll build a good reputation and might even get some referrals.
3) An activity that builds your skills
The problem with commenting 100x a day, writing for the sake of it and reading because you can is that you don't have an end goal.
You're just doing the action because you've been told to.
When you do complete these with a goal in mind (Such as landing a client) you can take action with purpose.
You can read about outreach strategies.
You can write new email scripts for cold email.
You can rewrite brand emails and send your copy to them.
This will help you build skills that you actually apply to your goals, rather than just having knowledge without practical applications.
If you set your day up to cover these 3 areas you'll completely change your business in 3 to 6 months.
Don't mindlessly follow advice from gurus.
Set yourself a goal and build your routine around it.
Have a great week,
