Come and feel better with us as we go through the 28 days of the current Toronto lockdown.
Every day on Instagram and Facebook we're sharing our strategies for feeling better. The whole team is sharing their favourite movement, food, mindfulness and mental health, nature and community ideas for you explore as we go through the month.
Not on social media? No worries! I'll put it all together as a pdf for you at the end of the month.
We're up to Day 10 and the lovely Emily is sharing a movement moment with you to follow up on Day 9, Giving Tuesday.
To participate in Giving Tuesday, Boomerang as a studio and Alison as herself donated to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, also known as CAMH.
Mental health and addiction are issues close to our hearts all the time, but during the pandemic people are struggling even more than usual.
Which charities speak to you and bring out your giving self?
As we are clearly going to be continuing with our online classes for the foreseeable future, we'd also like to give you (well, maybe your loved ones) a deal!
If you get our newsletter but have never actually taken classes with us, now's your chance to try them all, almost for free. Or if you always wished you could take classes with your sister from far away, this might be the nudge she needs to join you online. Or you could get a gift certificate for the holidays 😄
Speaking of classes, we have some suggestions for you to make the classes even more fun... props! Your teachers are looking for ways to keep you hopping, and would love to add a few more props to the repertoire.
We have some props for purchase if you live in the west end of Toronto and we can set up a pick up/drop off time.
Yoga Tune Up balls of all kinds! Originals, Plus and Alphas for $25 (tax inc on all items) Coregeous (squishy ball) $20 Spiky ball $5 Half domes (black) $15 Blue stretchy band $15 Yoga blocks are on their way for $15 and I hope they get here soon!
If you're interested in any of those things, hit reply and we'll get you sorted out.
For items we don't have on hand or if you don't live close to the studio we recommend Fitness Depot (for online ordering or to shop in person if it's possible to do a pick-up at your nearest location), Yoga Accessories and of course Amazon as a last resort.
A great basic combo includes - at least one size of ball for rolling (depending on which classes you take)
- a fitness ball (a squishy one will work if you have that)
- a yoga block
- at least one density of stretchy band (the flat kind or the tube, whichever you prefer)
- a ring band for around your knees or ankles
- and maybe a couple of small weights. You can always replace those with water bottles full of sand or rice if you don't want to pay the shipping for the extra weight!
Sorry for all the links, I seemed to have a lot to share this time around. 😄
Stay home if that's possible for you, stay safe if you're an essential worker and have to go out in the world, and know that we thank you for all you do!
Lots of love Alison and the rest of Team B
