| Hey Friend,
I recently got a question from one of my followers asking:
"Is it okay to go to an All-You-Can-Eat buffet every couple of weeks, or will it ruin my diet?"
The short answer is...
No.
One meal doesn't make or break your progress. It's your overall habits that determine your results.
Personally, I eat out about once a week. When I do, I enjoy what I call a "Free Choice Meal". I'll order what I want, enjoy the experience, and not worry about counting calories or hitting my macros perfectly.
Then after the restaurant meal it's right back to my regular eating plan built around protein, vegetables, complex carbs, and minimally processed whole foods.
That's what makes healthy eating sustainable.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is trying to eat "perfectly" 100% of the time. Eventually, they feel restricted, burn out, and often end up binge eating because the diet becomes too difficult to maintain.
Instead of chasing perfection, build a way of eating that you can actually enjoy over the long term.
That's why I always teach Progress Over Perfection.
Enjoy the occasional restaurant meal. Celebrate birthdays and special occasions. Have the buffet once in a while.
Then simply get back to your normal healthy routine.
Good enough and good enough consistently will always beat being perfect for a few weeks and then giving up altogether.

P.S. Remember, your body doesn't care what you ate at one buffet. It responds to what you do consistently over time. Focus on your daily habits, not occasional indulgences. |
