| Hey Friend,
Should you eat more food on the days that you workout & less food on your rest days?
This is a common question that I get asked by my personal coaching students.
A lot of people think that you need to eat more calories on the days you workout because you are burning more calories, and that you should eat less calories on your rest days since you are not burning as much.
Now while it's true that you certainly do burn more calories on a workout day compared to a non-workout day, there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than just calories in vs calories out...
Your body is constantly in a state of protein turn over and needs a steady supply of protein and nutrients for recovery and growth. Your nutritional needs don't get put on pause because you take a rest day from the gym.
How you go about planning your eating on a workout day VS. a rest day can have a HUGE impact on your overall strength and muscle gains in the future.
